I am often asked by first time home buyers or renters, "Is now a good time to buy a home?" "Should I renew my lease, my rent payment is continuing to increase?" "I would like to start building wealth and I am not sure what to do and where to begin." I can help!  Here is a quick video about building wealth and gaining security through homeownership!

Homeownership is a great way to build wealth and gain security. Here are six ways to do it:

  1. Building Your Equity: When you pay your mortgage, you build equity in your property, which is an asset you own. This contrasts with paying rent, which only benefits your landlord.
  2. Hedge against inflation: Real estate can be a good hedge against inflation. Investing in hard assets like a home can help protect your wealth from the eroding effects of inflation.
  3. Tax savings: Homeowners can benefit from tax deductions such as mortgage interest and property taxes.
  4. Long-term appreciation: Housing prices have historically increased over time, providing opportunities for long-term appreciation and potential wealth accumulation.
  5. Fixed Monthly Payment: As a homeowner, you can get a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage which will allow you to lock in your monthly payment. This means that your monthly payment will remain the same throughout the entire 30-year period, providing you with stability and predictability.
  6. Privacy, control, and security: If you rent your home, your landlord has the right to enter your home if they give you notice. This means that your landlord is entitled to a key to your property, and they can enter for legitimate reasons. Owning your home puts you in the driver's seat.

These are just a few ways homeownership can contribute to building wealth and gaining security. Owning a home can also provide stability, a sense of community, and the freedom to personalize your living space.
